Sinaloa Government Seeks to Reschedule Independence Day Concerts for 2025
The Government of the State of Sinaloa is looking to reschedule in 2025 the concerts that were canceled as part of the Independence Day celebrations at the Government Palace in Culiacán.
Juan Salvador Avilés Ochoa, director of the Sinaloa Institute of Culture (ISIC), specified that the contract signed between authorities and the artists amounted to approximately 10.8 million pesos. He affirmed that the cancellation of performances by Miguel Bosé, Marisela, and El Coyote will not generate additional costs, since such provisions were already included in the agreement.
“They will be rescheduled for other dates, just as stipulated in the contract—in both contracts. Remember that last year’s concerts were also canceled and later rescheduled without any problem,” Avilés Ochoa explained.
“We are already working with the representatives of the company to arrange the new dates this year, but the contract provides a one-year margin for rescheduling,” he added.
On the other hand, he noted that there are certain expenses that the State will not be able to recover, such as the rental of metal detector arches, stage installations, or lighting equipment. “We are trying to negotiate in some way to see if it might be possible to recover part of these costs, but at this moment we cannot determine that with precision,” warned the ISIC director.
