Every two weeks, the heart of Mazatlán’s Historic Center beats differently. The doors of galleries, museums, and studios open to the public, bringing life to ArtWalk Mazatlán — an experience that transforms the cobblestone streets into an open-air museum. Though many think it’s designed for tourists, ArtWalk is truly a celebration of local talent and a chance to discover the city’s creative spirit.
A Walk Among Colors, Stories, and Community
ArtWalk invites visitors to explore the Historic Center on foot — from well-known galleries to hidden studios tucked inside old colonial homes — where Mazatlecan and resident international artists exhibit their work. Painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, textile art, and more fill every corner, accompanied by the bohemian atmosphere that defines Mazatlán.
Walking along Constitución, Belisario Domínguez, or Heriberto Frías during ArtWalk isn’t just about seeing art — it’s about meeting artists, discovering new perspectives, and feeling the cultural heartbeat of the port. Every space has its own story, and every artist, a unique voice.
A Tradition with Deep Roots
ArtWalk Mazatlán was founded by artist Glen Rogers, who sought to create a bridge between the creative community and the public — bringing art to the streets and encouraging cultural dialogue.
Today, that tradition continues under the direction of Marysol Galván, artist and director of Point Gallery, who has preserved the original spirit of the project while inspiring a new generation of local creators and strengthening ArtWalk as one of Mazatlán’s most beloved cultural events.
An Event for Everyone
While many international visitors have made ArtWalk a must-see stop, it was born from the efforts of local artists who wanted to bring art closer to the community. Participating as a Mazatleco means supporting that creative movement that gives identity to our city. It’s also a chance to connect with the talent flourishing here — from emerging artists to established creators who have shaped Mazatlán’s artistic and cultural scene.

ArtWalk isn’t a passive activity. It’s a sensory stroll — each gallery has its own ambiance, live music drifts through the plazas, and the aroma of coffee or wine fills the air as conversations unfold. It’s art, but also community, curiosity, and belonging — a true reflection of Mazatlán’s soul.
