Food Bank and Venados de Mazatlán Team Up for “Hit a Home Run for Nutrition 2025”

After collecting 684 kilograms of food in last year’s campaign, this new edition aims to reach one ton of donations to benefit vulnerable communities in southern Sinaloa.

With the goal of gathering essential food products to support families facing food insecurity, the Mazatlán Food Bank (BAMX IAP) and the Venados Baseball Club launched the campaign “Hit a Home Run for Nutrition 2025,” which will take place on November 11, 12, and 13.

Just like last year, the initiative encourages people to donate 2 kilos of beans or rice, or 2 liters of oil or milk, in exchange for a free ticket to attend one of the games between the Venados and the Tucson team at the Teodoro Mariscal Stadium.

Food donations can be exchanged starting November 7 at the following locations:

  • Venados Market Toreo

  • Venados Market Estadio

  • Teodoro Mariscal Stadium

  • Mazatlán Food Bank (Colonia Ferrocarrilera)

Collection hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and donations can also be made before each game.

At a press conference, Ana Margarita Aceves, General Director of BAMX Mazatlán, alongside Rafael Domínguez Kelly (President of BAMX Mazatlán’s Board), Paul Luque Wiley (President of Espectáculos Costa del Pacífico), and Héctor Bache (Venados Sales Manager), shared details of the campaign.

“As a Food Bank, every day we strive to provide dignified nutrition to families in southern Sinaloa who struggle with food insecurity. We currently serve 34 urban and 6 rural communities, so this partnership with Venados de Mazatlán is a great way to expand our impact,” said Aceves Sánchez.

In addition, everyone who participates in the food drive will automatically enter a raffle for a chance to win two autographed baseballs and an official Venados jersey. The raffle winners will be announced through BAMX’s social media each day of the Tucson series.

Currently, BAMX Mazatlán distributes around 4,500 food packages per month, supporting over 9,000 people in the municipalities of Rosario, Escuinapa, Concordia, and Mazatlán. The organization also runs multiple food campaigns throughout the year to continue helping those in need.
