From January to November, Mazatlán welcomed 97 cruise ships with more than 400,000 passengers — and December is set to close the year with even stronger momentum.
According to the National Port System Administration, 21 cruise ships will arrive throughout December, bringing over 60,000 visitors to the port.
This week, the Royal Princess will dock on Tuesday.
From December 7–13, six ships are scheduled;
December 14–20, three arrivals;
December 21–27, five ships;
And the final week of the year will bring four more.
Official data from Sinaloa’s Tourism Secretariat reports that 18 cruise ships arrived in November with 62,977 passengers, generating an estimated 100 million pesos in economic impact.
In comparison, November 2024 registered 17 arrivals with 66,233 passengers and 23,459 crew members.
Overall, from January through November 2025, Mazatlán has received 97 cruise ships carrying over 400,000 passengers, boosting the local economy by nearly 500 million pesos.
Local businesses and service providers note the strong benefits of increased cruise tourism, and projections suggest that 2026 could see even higher numbers of national and international visitors arriving by sea.
