Sierra Madre rural Magic Town

This Magical Town was founded in 1562 and is one of the main attractions of the state.

Between the majestic hills that belong to the great Sierra Madre Occidental is a town that seems to have stopped time, with a colonial architecture of the 17th century.

At the same time, as the darkness progresses, the streets are covered with dim light, which adds a touch of mysticism to the town. Its kiosk is full of life and color with daily celebrations that you can enjoy. Its chapels and clay houses, painted in bright colors still reflect the splendor of other times.

It has interesting places such as Santa Úrsula’s Parish, Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Chapel, Casa del Ensaye, City Hall, «La Chinche» Culture House, Plaza de Armas, Burned Headquarters House and the Mining and History Museum.

Among its natural attractions are the Mineral de Nuestra Señora Ecological Reserve, the Vado Hondo Waterfalls, José Lopez Portillo Dam, better known as El Comedero, México, and El Charco Azul Caves.

Other interesting places are: San Juan Bautista Temple (in Alayá) and Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Temple (in Guadalupe de Los Reyes).

This northwest Mexican town has a very special atmosphere that comes from its mining past. Its centuries-old traditions and ghost legends will fascinate you.

Because of its tourist vocation, which captivates visitors and locals with culture, art, colonial architecture, cuisine and nature, but above all for its warmth, five towns in Sinaloa received the distinctive Pueblo Señorial. These recognitions will allow these peoples to be promoted in the state and national tourism agenda, as well as to facilitate access to programs and actions that will improve the infrastructure and services of these picturesque communities.
