A total of 10 recreational vessels will be inspected by the Mazatlán Harbormaster this Saturday, November 22, at the docks located in El Faro and Marina Mazatlán.
Authorities indicated that those responsible for each vessel must present complete documentation for both the unit and its crew during this inspection operation.
This review comes after a yacht sank last Monday near Marina Mazatlán due to a ruptured cooling line, an incident in which 11 people were rescued.
According to the report, the purpose of the operation is to ensure that vessels do not exceed their authorized passenger capacity.
Additionally, inspectors will verify that all passengers are wearing life jackets, that safety equipment is in functional condition, and that vessels providing recreational services comply with all safety guidelines — including maximum occupancy, operating schedules, protocols, and navigation suitability.
