– The ARM “Cuauhtémoc” Training Ship departs for 72-hour Sea Acceptance Tests following major maintenance work –
The Secretariat of the Navy of Mexico, through the Mexican Navy, announced that today the training ship ARM “Cuauhtémoc” set sail to carry out Sea Acceptance Tests (SAT) after undergoing the necessary repairs at Caddell Dry Dock and Repair Co. and GMD Shipyard, both located in New York.
It is worth noting that Sea Acceptance Tests are trials conducted on board a vessel to verify the operational conditions of its systems and equipment, ensuring they comply with performance standards before being formally accepted by the institution from the shipyard.
In addition, the sailing ship is scheduled to return to the Port of New York on September 20, tentatively at Pier 86 in Manhattan, where the ARM “Cuauhtémoc” will complete its preparations prior to setting sail again.
The Cuauhtémoc Training Ship is more than just a vessel—it is a symbol of discipline, training, and naval pride. Known as the Ambassador and Gentleman of the Seas, it will once again unfurl its sails, carrying with it the message of peace and goodwill from the Mexican people to the world.
