Mazatlán Launches Direct Route to Guadalajara

Beginning March 29, 2026, a new Mazatlán–Guadalajara air route will begin operating under Volaris, with three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

In an official statement, Sinaloa’s Secretary of Tourism, Mireya Sosa Osuna, announced that Mazatlán has strengthened its position as one of the most attractive destinations on the Mexican Pacific, thanks to its wide range of tourist, cultural, and gastronomic offerings, as well as its growing economic activity in sectors such as fishing, commerce, and services.

“We are very pleased to announce that starting March 29 we will have the Mazatlán–Guadalajara route, meaning we now have connectivity with the three main cities of the 2026 World Cup: Mexico City, Monterrey, and Guadalajara,” she said.

The state official added that although the route will begin operating in a few months, tickets are already available for purchase.

“It is a highly requested route, and we’ve been working on it all year. I would like to thank Volaris and our partners at OMA for their trust and collaboration. This has been a very sought-after route due to significant demand. Many Sinaloans travel frequently to Guadalajara for business, industrial matters, economic activities, university needs, healthcare, and of course tourism. This will directly benefit Mazatlán’s tourist activity, which is why it’s so important for our destination and for the entire state,” she noted.

Ricardo Dueñas, CEO of OMA, stated that this new connection strengthens Mazatlán by expanding its domestic air network.

“This new route is part of OMA’s strategy to expand connections throughout the Pacific and Western regions, strengthening the network that drives Mazatlán’s economic and tourism growth,” he emphasized.

With this new route, Volaris—an airline operating in Mexico, the United States, Central America, and South America—continues to expand its national connectivity strategy by linking two of the country’s most important economic and tourist hubs.

Since its arrival in the city, Volaris has transported more than 89 million passengers and currently operates 54 routes connecting 48 destinations, strengthening air connectivity in western Mexico and contributing to the region’s tourism and economic development.

“With this new route, we reinforce our commitment to customers in Guadalajara and Mazatlán by offering them more travel options at accessible prices, as well as connections that allow them to reunite with loved ones, conduct business, or enjoy an unforgettable vacation,” said Jorge Roberto García Rojas, Volaris’ Director of Distribution, Market Development, and Cargo.

Guadalajara is one of Volaris’ most important hubs. From this base, the airline operates the largest number of international destinations in the country—primarily to the United States, as well as Costa Rica and Canada.
