Mazatlán Welcomes 5,604 Visitors from the Cruise Ship “Norwegian Bliss”

Next week, Mazatlán is set to receive five cruise ships, including a triple arrival on Wednesday, November 12.

This Thursday, the Norwegian Bliss docked in Mazatlán, bringing 5,604 passengers and crew members who significantly boosted local tourism and business activity. The vessel, arriving from Puerto Vallarta, carried 3,983 passengers and 1,621 crew members, generating an estimated economic impact of 6.1 million pesos for the city known as the Pearl of the Pacific.

Once the ship completed docking procedures, travelers disembarked to explore Mazatlán’s main attractions — especially Plazuela Machado, its street performers, and the colorful Día de Muertos decorations — before departing at 6:00 p.m. for Cabo San Lucas.

According to Guillermo Romero Rodríguez, Vice President of Tourism for Canaco Mazatlán, the continuous arrival of cruise ships has revitalized the local economy as the year nears its end.

“The last two months of the year are looking strong for cruise tourism, and we expect the same trend to continue into 2026. Some business owners have even noticed passengers spending a bit more,” he noted.

According to the National Port System Administration’s schedule, the upcoming arrivals include:

  • Tuesday, November 11: Royal Princess

  • Wednesday, November 12: Triple arrival with Norwegian Jade, Carnival Panorama, and New Amsterdam

  • Thursday, November 13: Return of the Norwegian Bliss

So far in 2025, Mazatlán has received 84 cruise ships and over 312,000 visitors, generating an economic impact exceeding 492 million pesos, according to data from the Sinaloa Ministry of Tourism.
