President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo to Visit Mazatlán This Saturday

President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo will make her third visit to Mazatlán—and her fourth to Sinaloa—since assuming the Federal Executive Office in October 2024.

During her morning press conference at the National Palace, the president announced that she will visit the port city this Saturday as part of her nationwide tour presenting her first year in office. Her visits to Mazatlán have taken place in a context where Sinaloa continues to face insecurity challenges.

In response, the president has reiterated her support for Governor Rubén Rocha Moya amid the state’s climate of violence.

Sheinbaum’s first visit to Mazatlán was on December 22, 2024, followed by her second on May 24, which also included a stop in Culiacán. This third visit is scheduled for September 27.

Governor Rocha Moya stated that he will use the meeting to present key issues for the state, particularly the commercialization of corn, with the goal of ensuring guaranteed prices and securing federal support for the purchase of coverage for the upcoming harvest.

He also noted that he will brief the president on progress and needs in the area of security, where approximately 15,000 personnel from the Army, Navy, National Guard, and State Police are currently deployed.

Rocha emphasized that he will insist on the continuation of federal operations and support to address high-risk communities and displaced families in the mountainous regions.
