The Municipal Government presents the Mazatlán 2025 Youth Merit Award to five young people from Mazatlán.

During Mazatlán’s 22nd Extraordinary City Council Session, held Tuesday afternoon and led by Mayor Estrella Palacios Domínguez, council members unanimously approved granting the Mazatlán 2025 Youth Merit Award to five outstanding young Mazatlecos who have excelled in different areas of society. The proposal was presented by the joint Youth and Sports and Education committees of the City Council.

This award, organized by the Municipal Youth Institute (IMJU), aims to recognize the talent, effort, and commitment of local youth in the artistic-cultural, academic-technological, civic-social, sports, and inclusion categories. The official ceremony will take place this Thursday, October 23, during a special City Council session.

Mayor Estrella Palacios, together with City Council members and IMJU Director Arantxa Fernanda Ahumada Rosas, will present the awards, which include both a recognition plaque and a 10,000-peso prize per category. The initiative seeks to encourage continued youth development and inspire more young people to contribute actively to their community.

The award recipients for this edition are:
🏅 Martha Mariana Romero Uribe – Artistic-Cultural Merit
🏅 Silvia Jael Ramírez Villela – Disability & Inclusion Merit
🏅 Maximiliano Contreras Juárez – Academic-Technological Merit
🏅 Juan Benjamín Ordorica Hernández – Civic-Social Merit
🏅 Gabriela Nataly Soltero Casas – Sports Merit

Through this recognition, the Mazatlán City Council reaffirms its commitment to empowering young people and acknowledges their vital role in the municipality’s growth—promoting values of leadership, solidarity, innovation, and inclusion.
