The largest demonstration is set to take place in front of the Cathedral in downtown Culiacán, where heavy congestion is expected.
The first tractors, trucks, and other vehicles belonging to Sinaloa farmers have arrived in the city center to participate in the nationwide protest — part of the National Strike aimed at pressuring the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development over trade policy negotiations.
Across Sinaloa, demonstrations are planned at highway toll booths, downtown Culiacán, and the Government Palace esplanade, where the state administration offices are located.
According to the National Front for the Rescue of Mexican Agriculture, the mobilization responds to years of declining profitability for Mexican farmers, particularly those who cultivate grains throughout the country.
Due to the arrival of the tractors, the Municipal Traffic Department has implemented a preventive operation and closed off the Álvaro Obregón Avenue, from Antonio Rosales Street in the south to Miguel Hidalgo Street.
