The Rotary Club of Mazatlán has announced the sale of its traditional paella during the upcoming Gastronomic Fair, an annual charity event aimed at raising funds to install solar panels at Ciudad de los Niños, a children’s shelter in Mazatlán.
The fair will take place Sunday, November 23, at Plazuela Zaragoza, featuring a wide variety of dishes including paella, grilled meat, ceviche, seafood, pozole, burgers, pizza, desserts, tamales, and beverages, as well as live music and family-friendly entertainment.
Club president Alfredo Ruelas Solís shared that this year’s goal is to surpass the 125,000 pesos raised in 2024. “The Rotary Club has already begun installing solar panels for Ciudad de los Niños to help reduce their high electricity costs during the hot season, but more funds are needed to complete the project,” he said.
The event, now celebrating its 30th edition, has become a Mazatlán tradition that unites locals and foreign residents in support of social causes. Founded in 1926, the Rotary Club of Mazatlán will soon celebrate its 100th anniversary of community service.
Tickets are available for 100 pesos from Rotary Club members, on their official Facebook page, or at the event. The celebration begins at noon on November 23 at Plazuela Zaragoza — a perfect opportunity to enjoy good food, good company, and a great cause.
