Cathedral Announces Festivities for the Immaculate Conception and Our Lady of Guadalupe

This Saturday, November 29, the patronal celebrations at the Cathedral will begin with a concert and the ringing of bells.

The rector of the Basilica Cathedral of Mazatlán, Father Adán Pasos Sánchez, released the full schedule of religious and cultural activities that will take place for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and the celebrations in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe—two of the most attended traditions among the Catholic community in the municipality.

The priest announced that this year’s festivities will begin on November 29 with a string concert at the Cathedral at 7:00 p.m.

The ensemble will perform one of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and pieces from Life is Beautiful.

At the end of the recital, there will be a festive ringing of the Cathedral’s bells, which were recently restored thanks to a local benefactor. The blessing will be led by the Bishop of the Diocese of Mazatlán, Mario Espinosa Contreras, followed by fireworks, formally marking the start of the novena.

Novena and Daily Processions

The novena will take place from November 29 to December 7, with participation from Catholic schools such as Remington, Andes, and ICO, as well as several parishes from the city’s central, northern, and southern areas.

Daily processions will be held at 5:00 p.m., starting at Parque Zaragoza and featuring a pilgrim image of the Immaculate Conception.
