In recent days, Belinda filed a legal complaint against Lupillo Rivera for digital and media violence, following the publication of his autobiographical book “Tragos Amargos: Su verdad sin filtros.”
In the book, the brother of Jenni Rivera reveals intimate details about his alleged romantic relationship with the singer, which reportedly lasted nearly seven months. In response, “El Toro del Corrido” has also initiated legal action against the “Mentiras, la serie” star.
The two artists first met in 2019 when they were coaches on “La Voz México.” In his autobiography, Lupillo Rivera claims that they had plans to have children together. According to him, “the idea came from her—Belinda agreed. I was going to give her the opportunity to have my seed (I had sperm frozen after getting a vasectomy). The idea of having twin girls excited us both.”
The CDMX Prosecutor’s Office Grants Protective Measures to Belinda
The law firm Maceo, Torres & Asociados, S.C., which represents Belinda, announced that legal actions were initiated “to comprehensively protect her fundamental rights.”
On October 2, a formal complaint was filed for the alleged crimes of digital and media violence, in accordance with the General Law on Women’s Access to a Life Free of Violence.
The Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City granted immediate protective measures to ensure Belinda’s safety. These include security patrols near her residence, police protection, and immediate assistance if necessary.
Additionally, Lupillo Rivera is prohibited from approaching or communicating with Belinda, as well as from engaging in any form of intimidation or harassment toward her or people close to her. He has also been ordered to remove from social media any content that could harm the artist.
Lupillo Rivera’s Countersuit
The law firm Grupo Beceiro issued a statement confirming that it is legally representing Guadalupe Rivera Saavedra, better known as Lupillo Rivera, and that it has formed a legal team led by attorneys Mariana Gutiérrez and Alonso Beceiro.
According to their statement, the legal actions aim to clarify and refute allegedly false and defamatory statements that have damaged Lupillo Rivera’s honor, public image, and professional reputation.
“The legal team will file the necessary complaints and proceedings before the competent authorities, in strict accordance with the law, and in defense of our client’s rights and interests. Mr. Lupillo Rivera reiterates his respect for the media, for the public that has supported him throughout his career, and for anyone who exercises freedom of expression within legal and ethical limits.”
The attorneys also revealed, in an interview with journalist Gustavo Adolfo Infante, that on October 16, they officially filed a countersuit against Belinda for allegedly “false statements” and “procedural fraud.”
Lupillo’s Revelations About the Breakup
In another revelation, Lupillo Rivera claims that seeing Belinda with another man marked the end of their relationship.
“On the show ‘Despierta América,’ a photo was published showing Belinda holding hands with a man aboard a plane headed to Miami. That image ended our romance.”
The regional Mexican singer also stated that he possesses “very strong material” from his alleged relationship with the Spanish-born actress.
