With the goal of keeping the city cleaner and free of pollution, the “Mazatlán te quiero limpio” (“Mazatlán, I Want You Clean”) campaign continued this Saturday, November 8, led by the Municipal Government. The initiative resulted in the collection of 160 cubic meters of waste, equivalent to 23 dump trucks and 4,800 bags of garbage.
Mayor Estrella Palacios Domínguez, who led the effort, highlighted that these results reflect the strong commitment of both citizens and municipal departments to maintaining public spaces in good condition.
“We’re very proud of this program and grateful to everyone who joined in. We’ve reached a record figure — 160 cubic meters of waste, meaning 23 truckloads and 4,800 bags of trash that won’t end up in our rivers, beaches, or blocking our drains,” the Mayor stated.
Various city departments participated in the cleanup: Jumapam worked in the Jesús García neighborhood, Ecology and Environment at the Casa del Marino, Public Works along Avenida Revolución, and the Beach Authority carried out actions at the Monument to the Pulmonía. Personnel from Public Services also reinforced waste collection and cleaning efforts across different parts of the port.
Mayor Palacios emphasized that these actions reaffirm her administration’s commitment to keeping Mazatlán clean, combining institutional and community efforts to care for the city.
