A yacht sank on Monday night on the beach near the Pueblo Bonito hotel in Mazatlán after reportedly suffering a mechanical failure, according to authorities.
A total of 11 people — including adults, children, and crew members — were brought safely to shore. Reports indicate that none suffered physical injuries, with the incident limited to moments of nervous distress.
Throughout 2025, at least three incidents involving yachts and recreational vessels experiencing malfunctions or mechanical failures have been recorded, with approximately 35 people rescued in these cases.
The accident was handled by members of the Aquatic Rescue Squad and tourism service operators who assisted the affected individuals.
Paramedics from the Red Cross, Civil Protection, and various private hospitals arrived at the scene to provide medical evaluation, though no hospital transfers were ultimately necessary.
