Activities for the festivity started with the announcement of the call for the future queen of the festival by the department of Culture, Tourism and Art of Mazatlán.

For this edition of the biggest party in the port will be honored by The mayor Estrella Palacios Domínguez who was Queen of the 2001 Carnival «Y que suene la música«

The call aims to continue the legacy of festivity, art, and tradition that defines the port’s greatest celebration, which will hold another edition next year.

Applicants must meet certain requirements regarding age, residency, and availability, in addition to participating in a series of interviews and preliminary events as part of the selection process.

Registrations will be open starting today through October 31 and may be completed in person at the offices of the Institute of Culture.

The selection of candidates will be announced no later than November 7, while the official presentation is scheduled for November 12.

The election of the queen will take place on Friday, January 24, at the Ángela Peralta Theater. The winners will have the honor of leading the parades and official events during the Carnival celebration, scheduled for February 12 to 17.
